Define Phase

The project is intended to allow class VIII students to explore the
following topics
The students will work in small group to acquire the knowledge about
the need and importance of conserving rain water. It also helps them to
develop 21st c skills.

be used etc. as well as other factors affecting scope.
Student class VIII TOPIC :RAINWATER HARVESTING
Topic involved: science, technology, maths, sociology, geology student’s
research will be monitored by the mentor.

Lesson 2
2.1 Essential
Question:
Put in writing the
question that will engage the students
How can we save monsoon rainwater for future needs and to protect the
ecosystem?

2.2 Grouping
Strategy:
Describe
the criteria that will be used to form student’s team and how this maps to the
goals of the project.
Team will comprise groups of students mixed with
gender and mixed ability and skills as well as varied social and economic
backgrounds the team members will get opportunity for interaction with peer
groups as also to develop their self-confidence and ability of public
speaking by giving them a chance to present their project finding in front of
their class.

2.3 Learning
Environment:
Describe
the learning environment for the project including any classroom adaptation
that will be required.
A group working
area in the classroom will be set aside with tables and chairs to allow more
effective interaction among team members. A classroom wall near the project
area will be set aside to post paper materials collected during research notes
will be converted to documents that the team can record this in computer the
team members also collaborate via mail as is required.

30 minutes class time every week to discuss the progress of the task
taken up and problems encountered by them.
5 Minutes meeting with each group separately twice a week.

3.8 Assessment

created before project launch.
Opportunities for authentic assessment will include the survey and
its result.
Formative assessment will primarily focus on the
data and conclusions reached by the children.
Special attention will be paid to survey reports, learning journals,
presentation of outline.
Summative assessment will be performed on the basis of survey
results.
Rubrics will be prepared to assess the end result.
